Chen Deming Holds talks with Vu Huy Hoang, Vietnam Minister of Industry and Trade in Beijing

Minister Chen Deming held talks with Minister Vu Huy Hoang of Vietnam in Beijing on October 12.

Chen Deming said, China-Vietnam trade and economic relations developed smoothly in recent years. China has been Vietnam’s biggest trade partner for 5 successive years, and Vietnam has also become one of the major destinations for Chinese enterprises overseas direct investment. Although China-Vietnam bilateral trade declined this year due to global financial crisis, more development opportunities of bilateral trade and economic cooperation remain. China attached importance to China-Vietnam trade and economic relations and hoped to make joint efforts with Vietnam to maintain and expand bilateral trade, create favorable conditions for enterprises two-way investment, speed up implementation of trade and economic cooperation projects and promote trade and economic cooperation between the two countries to a new high.

Vu Huy Hoang expressed his congratulation to China on the 60th anniversary of founding of PRC. He said that Vietnam-China trade and economic relations is very important, China is a very important trading partner to Vietnam. Vietnam would like to further strengthen cooperation with China, and to promote steady development of bilateral trade and economic relation through various channels and welcome Chinese entrepreneurs to continue to expand investment and trade in Vietnam.

The two sides also exchanged views on such issues as formulating development planning on trade and economic cooperation, developing border trade, constructing trade and economic cooperation zones, and realizing infrastructure interconnection and multilateral cooperation.
